Le Mans Ultimate Online Championships 2025 Season 2 is here, and with it we’re bringing some new championships, a revised schedule and updates to the format based on your feedback.
Following the huge success of Season 1 with over 3,000 sign ups across the 4 championships, the challenges are new, the competition will be stronger than ever, and the thrill of endurance racing is set to reach new heights.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to Le Mans Ultimate and online racing, there’s something for everyone.
What are Online Championships?
Online Championships are a premium online experience available to RaceControl Pro and Pro+ subscribers. They host linked races with championship tables with one for overall players, racers with the same manufacturer, your nationality, a Driver Rank league (your closest ranked competitors) and your friends.
Crucially, our RaceControl stewarding team will review more closely the post-race protests in these series and penalise drivers for more than just deliberate collisions or harassment – we aim to keep this mode as clean as possible.
You will need to select a car to drive for all 6 weeks and are allowed up to 3 attempts per week (round).
Season 2 will run over 6 weeks, with the first races beginning on Tuesday 4th February. You can sign up and practice for the first two rounds on the exclusive practice servers from today.
The Season 2 Championships
Our most popular series – LMGT3 Fixed will remain for season 2 and we’re adding a second fixed setup championship for Hypercars! The Hypercar Fixed series will feature more cars on the grid than its LMGT3 counterpart – with up to 38 competitors on the grid each round.
Multiclass Masters is the definitive Le Mans Ultimate experience and we love watching and participating in the fast and frenetic racing in the sprint formats available. This season adds a weekend slot based on driver feedback. The now familiar 90 min races will feature 2x fuel and we’re excited to see the class battles rage on!
2023 was a landmark year for the FIA World Endurance Championship with the introduction of LMDh machinery amongst the LMH cars, and the last season of the legendary GTE class. 2023 Endurance Series pays tribute to this season with car classes, calendar and race conditions akin to that centenary season.
Finally, we’ve made some changes to the slots and weekly schedule – we hope the addition of new slots across all our championships and more weekend races means even more of players are able to register and race in Season 2!
Format Changes
While we are at the beginning of the Online Championship journey and always looking to review and improve, we have taken this opportunity to implement some much requested changes to the Driver Rank League (DR) and Strength of Field (SoF) points systems.
The DR League currently features a mix of classes in series that feature more than one category. In Season 2 this structure will be updated to include by class only and can be filtered.
Additionally, the SoF points calculation will now differentiate between classes. The formula in Season 1 would mean all driver’s DR in all classes would affect the number of points you would win – even if you weren’t directly racing against them. We anticipate this update will increase the competitiveness within DR Leagues and also close the gaps in overall championship standings.
Penalty Rules – Championship Points Reduction
As part our ongoing pledge to keep online racing clean and respectful, we continually monitor and action protests by the community and prioritise those reported via Online Championships.
From Season 2 admin & stewards reviewing protests will be able to apply a Championship points reduction per week as penalty for incidents. We hope introducing a further level of penalty will act primarily as a deterrent against needless wrecking and encourage competitive, clean and fun racing on track!
