Many people are still a little confused by what’s what with the new introduction of a subscription model come December 10th for Le Mans Ultimate and Studio 397. So here is a detailed breakdown of each subscription tier and what’s available to people with and without any subscription. Before we get into the subscriptions themselves here are a few points to clear up other areas of doubt.
DLC Content
Users of Le Mans Ultimate and rF2 can still buy all DLC content separately without any subscription plan in place on both platforms, absolutely nothing changes there. If you only want to use the free content alongside a specific DLC you are free to do that without accessing all of the available content.
Season Pass For LMU
The Season Pass offering remains exactly the same and will remain available on Le Mans Ultimate for users to get a discount on bulk DLC purchase after December 10th should they not want any rF2 benefits. This is specific to LMU and saves users roughly 25% in value compared to purchasing the DLC’s individually.
Race Control Lite
Race Control Lite is your free option for Le Mans Ultimate. This allows you access to the base game if you haven’t purchased any DLCs, you can amend and interact with your driver profiles and you can join your daily, weekly and monthly free racing events whilst still keeping access to the recently release co-op modes.
With the introduction of hosted servers you will also be able to set up your own practice and race servers whilst also being able to join other people hosted server events.
The Race Control Pro Sub
The Race Control Pro subscription opens enhanced online championships for drivers. What this means is drivers with a subscription will be able to enter all online competitions, they will get extended registration periods and priority driver reports when filing post race.
The subscription model also acts as a base for future needs, with esports series returning like the Virtual Le Mans Series a subscription will be needed to enter and qualify. The Race Control Pro Sub will also allow drivers to include custom liveries for themselves or their esports teams, this is for 2025 however.
The Race Control Pro+ Sub
The Pro+ sub acts as a bridge to connect all Studio 397 content on Le Mans Ultimate and r Factor 2, meaning for one monthly fee you will be able to unlock every single bit of content from both platforms. Users will still need to purchase the base games for those titles. But after that, the two worlds unlock in their entirety for as long as you remain a subscriber.
The Pricing of The Subs
Both monthly and annual plans are available to users and the monthly plans are actually priced relatively well. But to get the most bang for your buck they have made it obvious which way a user should go. With the annual plans. They save you a whopping 50% on costs and a Race Control Pro+ plan would only cost you $7 per month, that’s the price of a coffee these days.
